Carbon Capture and Sequestration
CO2 capture, pipelining and sequestration developments are widely considered to be one of the most immediate, feasible and meaningful ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a large scale and address the challenges posed by climate change.
As one of the partners in the Aquistore project, which is managed by the Petroleum Technology Research Centre, Enbridge is actively engaged in investigating the feasibility of the long-term commercial sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in deep saline aquifers in Saskatchewan.
Enbridge is also a member of the Integrated CO2 Network (ICO2N), an organization of Canadian companies committed to helping Canada meet its climate change objectives while supporting economic growth through deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage.
