Waste Heat
Waste heat recovery units offer an innovative way to capture the exhaust heat from natural gas turbines (which compress the gas to transport it through the pipeline) and convert it into emissions-free electricity. We have a 50 per cent interest in NRGreen Power, which operates four waste heat recovery facilities along the Alliance Pipeline in Saskatchewan. The units generate a total of about 20 MW -- enough to power about 20,000 homes.
