Liquids Storage

Cushing

Enbridge’s largest tank farm is located in Cushing, Okla. – the most important crude oil storage hub in the world, and the settlement location of the New York Mercantile Exchange West Texas Intermediate (NYMEX WTI) contract. With 88 tanks and just over 20 million barrels in shell capacity, Enbridge has the largest terminal in the Cushing area.

Hardisty

Located about 180 kilometres southeast of Edmonton along Enbridge’s mainline system, Hardisty is emerging as the most important crude oil storage hub in Canada. Enbridge is the largest operator of contract storage facilities at the Hardisty hub, with 3.1 million barrels of salt-cavern storage at Hardisty Caverns and 7.5 million barrels at the Hardisty Contract Terminal surface storage facility.

Edmonton/Athabasca

Enbridge has about 6.1 million barrels of storage associated with its Athabasca regional operations. The majority of that storage is based at Enbridge’s Edmonton Terminal, the starting point of the company’s cross-continent Mainline System, which has 29 tanks with a nominal shell capacity of about 5.7 million barrels. Enbridge will be expanding existing infrastructure at its Cheecham Terminal, about 75 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray, Alta., constructing two new 450,000-barrel blend tanks and converting an existing tank from blend to diluent service; the approximately $300-million expansion is expected to come into service in two phases through 4Q of 2014 and 1Q of 2015.

Flanagan

Enbridge’s Flanagan Terminal in Pontiac, Ill., an important hub in the company’s Western Gulf Coast Access initiative, comprises 10 tanks with a total shell capacity of 2.17 million barrels.

Patoka

Enbridge owns four storage tanks at a tank farm in Patoka – a key U.S. Midwest transportation hub, located in rural Marion County in southern Illinois – with a total shell capacity of 480,000 barrels.
