American Red Cross
Since its founding in 1881 the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization.
As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering.
In 2011 alone, Enbridge has donated more than $100,000 to the American Red Cross to areas throughout the world that have had major natural disaster destruction, such as the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the tornados in Joplin, Missouri and central Oklahoma, and the flood in Minot, North Dakota. Enbridge contributed $60,000 to the Red Cross Mid-Dakota Chapter for flood relief; $10,000 was given in the spring of 2011 and an additional $50,000 was contributed in the summer.
