Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer

More than 11,000 riders brought passion and perseverance to their efforts toward a cancer-free future, raising a total of $43.9 million to support cancer research and delivering a striking blow in the fight against a disease that impacts 1 in 4 Canadians.
"Congratulations to all the riders, volunteers and participants who committed so much to cancer research. Together we really have made an epic impact," said Patrick D. Daniel, Enbridge President and CEO. "We're proud to be the national sponsor title for the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer for 2011 - 2013 and we hope to see you out there participating in next year's rides!"
In terms of dollars raised, the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is the largest cycling fundraiser in Canadian history. To date the event has raised more than $130 million for cancer research treatment and care at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, the BC Cancer Foundation, the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Ontario and the Jewish General Hospital Segal Cancer Centre in Quebec.
Enbridge believes in being and supporting leaders in our communities by investing in innovative initiatives in health and social services. In recognition of those men and women who have bravely chosen to participate in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer events across Canada, Enbridge recently launched a print and radio campaign. Running in various publications across Canada, the print and radio spots focus on just some of the people participating in the Rides.
"It’s the people that are riding and volunteering that are the true heroes of this event," said D’Arcy Levesque, Vice President, Public and Government Affairs at Enbridge. "We're taking the opportunity to allow them to share their story, while at the same time illustrate Enbridge’s pride in sponsoring this event nationally."
