Because millions of North Americans count on the energy we deliver daily, there can be no compromise over the steps we take to ensure maximum safety and reliability, year after year.
The safe, environmentally responsible operation of our pipelines has always been our No. 1 priority – and it always will be. The integrity of a pipeline system reflects on the reputation of the operator as a responsible, reliable transporter of energy. And doing everything possible to prevent leaks is what our host communities expect from us as a conscientious neighbor.
Our regular preventative maintenance program sees us perform a number of integrity digs along our pipeline network, some of which may happen in your area. This recurring initiative is just one of the ways Enbridge commits to its mission of maintaining the highest levels of safety for your families, communities and the environment.
Enbridge also supports its comprehensive maintenance program with integrity management plans for our Liquids Pipelines and Gas Transportation systems. These plans describe how some parts of our pipelines have a greater potential for affecting public areas – where people live, work, or play – or environmentally sensitive areas, in the unlikely event of a leak.
Enbridge works with federal and provincial/state regulatory organizations, and local emergency responders, to verify that these integrity management plans, pipeline testing, and preventative measures are appropriate for the conditions along the route segment.
