Norlite Diluent Pipeline Project
Enbridge Pipelines (Athabasca) Inc. (Enbridge Athabasca) is proposing to construct and operate a new pipeline system for transporting diluent, which is a product term that describes various light liquid hydrocarbons, such as condensate or synthetic crude, used to dilute heavy oil to make it easier to transport or to assist in its production. The pipeline is planned to initiate at Enbridge Pipelines Inc.’s existing Edmonton Terminal and terminate at Enbridge Athabasca’s existing Cheecham Terminal.
As part of the Project, Enbridge Athabasca is proposing to construct:
- A new pipeline approximately 430 km in length and up to 610 mm (24 inches) in diameter.
- A new pump station located within Enbridge Athabasca’s existing Stonefell property.
