The majority of the proposed pipeline route follows the existing Enbridge Athabasca right-of-way (“ROW”). Following the existing ROW allows us easier access for construction and maintenance activities and helps minimize environmental impacts. We will employ industry-proven construction techniques for each of the planned crossings such as water courses, railways, roads and other pipelines. Crossing techniques such as boring, horizontal directional drilling and open cuts will be designed to suit each crossing situation. In addition, due to the terrain in the area, the majority of construction is planned during winter months which also helps reduce environmental effects.
