Enbridge - Where energy meets people

Timeline

Enbridge Athabasca completed the construction on the 10-km section of pipeline through the City of Fort McMurray in April 2011.

In September 2011, we completed the Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) crossing of the Athabasca River, just north of Fort McMurray.

Pipeline construction began in November 2011, with the completion in the 30-km ROW of the project north of the Cheecham Terminal, which shares a common corridor with the Enbridge Woodland Pipeline Project in March 2012.

Hydrostatic testing of the remaining pipeline outside of the shared ROW took place in March 2012.

The remaining project construction activities are scheduled as follows:

April 2012 - Completion of 55 km of pipeline construction north of the shared ROW to the Enbridge Athabasca Terminal
August 2012 - Completion of pump station construction
September 2012 - Pump station commissioning activities

The expected project in service is October 2012.
