This new 388 km pipeline with a diameter of 36 inches transports bitumen from Enbridge Athabasca's existing Cheecham Terminal to Enbridge Pipelines Inc.'s existing Edmonton Terminal, effectively extending the Woodland Pipeline. Construction work is now complete and the Woodland Pipeline Extension Project went into service in July 2015. Final reclamation and clean-up will occur this Fall from south of the La Biche River to the Stonefell terminal. Remaining clean-up in the Northern part of the project will be complete in coordination with the Norlite Pipeline project.
Our reclamation work includes ensuring that top soils are replaced and the grounds are leveled. We will also be working to ensure that community roads that were used during our construction activity are repaired. We anticipate being finished these reclamation activities by November.
