Gas Pipelines Development

Natural gas pipelines represent Enbridge's newest core business, and the company is pursuing a number of prospects for additional investment and involvement.

One is northern gas pipeline development. Demand for gas is growing throughout North America, and gas from Alaska and Canada's Mackenzie Delta represents significant sources of additional supply. Enbridge has worked with producers from both Alaska and Canada, in the belief that our unique expertise in building and operating northern pipelines and other energy infrastructure would be of value in northern pipeline development.

Other areas of interest to Enbridge are Central and Atlantic Canada, and the opportunities to supply those areas with East Coast offshore gas, and regasification and take-away facilities for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in North America, including the $840 million Rabaska Project in Quebec.
