Our 2006 Performance

However, we do continue to use halocarbon-containing equipment (in vehicles, drinking water fountains, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems), as well as halon-containing equipment (fire extinguishers) at some facilities.

In 2006, Liquids Pipelines finalized and implemented an Ozone-depleting Substances Environmental Management Plan for its Canadian operations. The plan includes phase-out of halon-containing fire extinguishing equipment. In addition, we will strive to find alternatives to minimize our use of other ozone-depleting substances. We will have trained all employees at our Canadian operations about the plan by the end of 2007. We will review on a regular basis compliance with the plan through our environmental review program. We will also review the plan every three years and update it as necessary to reflect changes in applicable legislation.
