Training and Awareness
In keeping with the People Strategy, Enbridge Human Resources and Enbridge’s leadership have initiated and expanded a number of practices in 2008 to advance and reinforce our focus on people and relationships.
Among these are our Enbridge Day of Welcome program and our enhanced orientation programs, which support newcomers as they join us. Also among these programs are our workforce transition programs, which support retiring individuals through their pre-retirement phase, to ensure both a smooth transition and that Enbridge retains key information.
Enbridge’s leaders actively manage the attraction, retention and transition of our workforce. In 2007, they expanded and enhanced the following training and awareness-related initiatives pertaining to labour and talent management:
- leadership and employee development programs
- internal and external mentorship programs
- the Woman@Enbridge Community, and the delivery of programs in each business unit
- “onboarding” programs and practices for new employees
- a new Intranet to support employee communications
- recruitment and career development programs
- employee benefit programs
- individual development planning
