Strong environmental performance is a key indicator of successful
businesses. In 2004, our efforts - everything from addressing
greenhouse gases to investing in wind power to helping our
customers to save energy - continued to earn Enbridge a
reputation for environmental leadership.

Highlights from our 2004 performance included:
- reducing greenhouse gas emission intensity in our Canadian operations to
23% below 1990 levels
- taking innovative steps in our U.S. Natural Gas Business to reduce the loss of
methane in gathering pipelines
- investing in the 30 MW Magrath wind power project in southern Alberta
- saving about 74 million cubic metres of natural gas (enough to supply more
than 25,000 homes for a year) through Enbridge Gas Distribution's demand-side
management programs
- carrying out more than 780 pipeline integrity digs along our Liquids Pipelines
system in Canada and the United States.
