Response to reported release in St. Charles County, Missouri

Friday, February 8, 2019

After completing a multitude of verifications on the Platte Pipeline, Enbridge is highly confident that the Platte Pipeline is not the source of the crude oil release reported in St. Charles County, Missouri. As such, Enbridge has begun a restart plan for the Platte Pipeline which will include additional monitoring, aerial patrols and onsite visual inspections. The portion of the Platte Pipeline between Casper, Wyoming and Salisbury, Missouri was returned to service on Thursday. The remainder of the line downstream of Salisbury remained shut down as a precaution while Enbridge personnel, in concert with personnel from TransCanada, worked to identify the source and conduct cleanup efforts. Enbridge anticipates that the entire Platte Pipeline will resume normal operations by tomorrow morning. The Platte Pipeline was shut down out of an abundance of caution as oil was reported in a location near several oil pipelines operated by several different companies, including the Platte Pipeline.
