Enbridge and 4-H Canada Announce Winners for Build a Winning Future Contest

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Feb. 26, 2014) - Enbridge, proud national title sponsor of 4-H Canada's 2013 Centennial celebration, today announced the winners of the Build a Winning Future Contest. As 4-H heads into its second century, clubs from across Canada were asked to depict their unique vision for the organization's future by creating a structure built entirely out of playing cards.

From dozens of entries, South Bruce Beef Club (first place), Cercle des Jeunes Ruraux de Compton-Waterville (second place), and Keswick Ridge (third place) were selected for earning top scores in creativity, teamwork and originality. The winning clubs will be awarded a cash prize of $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000 respectively to be used for their local club.

"We were so impressed by the imagination and ingenuity shown by these future leaders and it was not an easy task selecting just three structures. We are honoured to be part of this milestone event for 4-H Canada and wish them another hundred years of success."

First place: The South Bruce 4-H Beef Club, hailing from southwest Ontario, built a three-dimensional beef steer lovingly known as Bruce, representing the club members' passion for the beef industry enduring into the next century.

Second place: The Cercle des Jeunes Ruraux de Compton-Waterville in Quebec created a flying pig complete with wings and a curly tail, to remind us that anything is possible.

Third place: The 4-H club from Keswick Ridge, NB created a number of card structures representing unique future project ideas such as sports leadership and space adventure.
