Public Consultation

Public consultations have been conducted in connection with the wind power project since its inception. Consultations and public meetings have provided a range of opportunities for input and participation by local communities and other interested stakeholders. The intent throughout has been to respond to questions and concerns, discuss options, alternatives and mitigating measures, and increase understanding about the project among all parties.

Public consultations also represent an important part of the Environmental Screening process carried out for the project in accordance with the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment March 2001 Guide to Environmental Assessment Requirements for Electricity Projects. The screening process results were published in a report April 19, 2006, which was made widely available for review by the public and any interested parties. Enbridge Ontario Wind Power L.P. will continue to engage affected or interested parties on an ongoing basis through all phases of the project, through to commissioning and operations.
