Excavation near the ROWTo protect public safety and reduce the risk of pipeline damage, landowners must contact us at least three working days before beginning an excavation within 30 metres of the pipeline. The construction of buildings, foundations or stockpiling of materials is prohibited on the ROW. This list of activities is intended only as a guideline. If you are in doubt, please contact Enbridge Pipelines regarding your ROW questions. Call Before You DigSometimes work needs to be done on or near the pipeline. That's why Enbridge Pipelines offers "Call Before You Dig", a free pipeline location service. Within three working days of your request, an Enbridge Pipelines representative will be at your door, ready to mark the exact location of the line. For installations across the ROW, written permission is required. Depending on the installation, approval could take up to 10 days. Either way, permission should be sought in advance.
