Our Community Partners
Enbridge is underpinned by a culture of volunteerism. We encourage our employees to participate actively in their communities.
Through Enbridge's Our Community Partners program, we support employee contributions of time and money to charitable organizations by:
- Providing grants of $500 in Canada and $250 in the U.S. to non-profit organizations where employees have volunteered 40 hours or more of service, per year, outside of business hours in countries where Enbridge has operations, including energy4everyone Foundation volunteer opportunities; OR, providing grants to cover an employee’s personal registration fee and match their individual fundraising efforts for one event per year, up to a maximum of $500 in Canada and $250 in the U.S.;
- Matching employee donations of up to $10,000 for Enbridge’s United Way campaigns;
- Giving employees the opportunity to take one paid day off per year to volunteer at the non-profit organization of their choice in countries where Enbridge has operations;
- Giving employees one paid day off per year for supervisor-led team building volunteer activities.
In 2017, about 700 of our employees in the U.S. and Canada devoted more than 12,000 hours to non-profit organizations in their communities through the Our Community Partners program. In recognition of their efforts, we awarded more than $212,000 in grants to those organizations.
Since its inception in 2010, Our Community Partners has engaged thousands of employees who've donated more than 117,000 hours—and provided more than $2 million—to communities across the U.S. and Canada.
Through this support, everyone at Enbridge gains a better understanding of our communities, the challenges they face, and the ways we can best support them.
