This week, Enbridge placed additional operating pressure restrictions on the pipelines across the Straits of Mackinac as a precautionary and prudent measure. We took this step in close consultation with our federal regulator PHMSA, with federal code, and with the State of Michigan.

On April 23, the Administrative Law Judge submitted a non-binding recommendation to the MPUC on granting the Certificate of Need and Route Permit for Enbridge’s Line 3 Replacement Project. The MPUC will consider it and the entire regulatory record in making its Project determination.
Line 5 was restarted on April 16 at 3:15 p.m. ET. We continue to monitor the weather conditions in the Straits and provide updates to the State, Coast Guard and PHMSA.
Line 5 is temporarily shut down due to a power outage at the Enbridge terminal in Superior, Wisconsin.
