Geothermal energy



As Oregon's first commercial geothermal power facility, Neal Hot SpringsEnbridge's entry into geothermal energyis a state-of-the-art, zero-emission project that uses heat from the Earth to generate electricity.

With a gross production of 22 megawatts (MW), the project, located in Malheur County, Oregon, produces enough power to supply the energy needs of about 18,200 homes.

Developed and constructed by Ormat Technologies, in partnership with Enbridge, Neal Hot Springs began commercial operations in November 2012 and delivers electricity to the Idaho power grid. Enbridge has a 40% ownership interest in Neal Hot Springs.
