Today, work resumed on the Line 5 Wisconsin Segment Relocation Project after a 48-hour project-wide safety stand-down for construction workers, during which project leadership reinforced safety protocols.
Work on the Potato River horizontal directional drill paused today after 100 gallons of clay and water were released at the drill site. The combination (approximately 96% water and 4% naturally occurring clay) was released and immediately cleaned up.
Construction on the project is approximately 65% complete.
Line 5 is critical energy infrastructure serving 10 refineries and propane production facilities delivering affordable energy to millions of consumers in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
