Mainline Optimization Phase 1

2024

• Early project planning and development

First half of 2025

• Ongoing project design and development
• Public engagement begins with government, Tribal Nations, First Nations and Metis governments, as well as other interested stakeholders

Second half of 2025

• Enbridge decides to proceed with optimization work
• Regulatory permit applications begin to be filed

2026

• Ongoing permit applications filed where required
• Construction at Enbridge facilities expected to begin, pending receipt of required regulatory approval

2027

• Construction continues

2028

• Mainline Optimization Phase 1 goes into service

Mainline Optimization Phase 2 (preliminary timeline)

First half of 2026

• Public engagement begins with adjacent landowners, government, Tribal Nations, First Nations and Métis governments, as well as other interested stakeholders

Mid-2026

• Enbridge makes a decision on whether this project proceeds

Second half of 2026

• Required regulatory applications begin to be filed (pending a decision to proceed with the project)

2027 and 2028

• Ongoing permit applications filed where required
• Construction at Enbridge facilities expected to begin
• Targeted project in-service date late 2028
