Excited about Enbridge’s future

April 6, 2023

“There are three beautiful things that I really appreciate about the Ojibwe culture. First, we don’t say good-bye; we say ‘I’ll see you again,’ ” says Taylor Whitebird-Salo, a first-generation descendant of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and Tribal Engagement Advisor for Enbridge.

“Two is the balance that we have between the land, the animals and ourselves. And three, we live grounded by our seven teachings, and they teach us to live a good life.”

Whitebird-Salo joined Enbridge in 2022. “Not many companies have an Indigenous Peoples Policy. We do. It shows that we want to change, we are changing and we’re going to continue to grow and make an impact in Indigenous communities with these commitments.”

“What makes Enbridge so different is the community engagement,” adds Taylor. “My focus is Wisconsin, getting out into the Tribal communities, helping them understand who we are as a company.”
