Pipeline Project

Enbridge and 1PointFive (a subsidiary of Occidental) have formed a partnership to develop the Pelican Sequestration Hub and related pipeline transportation infrastructure in parts of Ascension and Livingston Parishes in southeastern Louisiana.

Enbridge will develop, construct, and operate the pipeline, and 1PointFive will develop the facilities required to permanently store the carbon dioxide (CO₂).

For more than 75 years, Enbridge has been safely operating in Louisiana. From making meaningful community investments to creating employment opportunities, we are committed to supporting local growth and development. Building upon these efforts, the Pelican Sequestration Hub Pipeline Project will generate tax revenues that support local infrastructure, education and emergency services.

Project overview:

• Type: Approx. 50-mile pipeline
• Location: Originates in Ascension Parish; terminates at Pelican Sequestration Hub in Livingston Parish
• Status: Early development*
• In-service target date: 2029

* No construction work has commenced at this time.

Community engagement

Approximately 75% of the proposed Pelican pipeline route will be co-located within existing pipeline or transmission corridors. This enables us to reduce impacts on communities and the environment.

This route selection is the result of survey findings, careful analysis and ongoing engagement. Adjustments reflect landowner feedback, limiting overall impacts, and avoiding sensitive locations.
