Texas facility will be one of North America’s largest solar projects, with its 815 MW supporting energy needs of AT&T, Toyota, PepsiCo and Donaldson Company

Enbridge has reached another major milestone in its power journey: Sequoia Solar Phase One is now fully operational. The achievement was celebrated at a May 12 grand opening event with community members, partners, contractors and customers Toyota and AT&T.

“This milestone reflects what Enbridge does best: executing complex projects safely, predictably, and with purpose. We’re continuing to deliver all-of-the-above energy solutions to help power North America,” said Greg Ebel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enbridge.

Sequoia Solar is located in Callahan County, west of Dallas, Texas. The project is being constructed in two phases: Sequoia Phase One (400 MW) and Sequoia Phase Two (415 MW), which is expected to be completed by year-end.

“Sequoia Solar reflects what’s possible through close collaboration across teams and partners. Bringing the first phase into operation is an important milestone, delivering new power to customers and advancing one of North America’s largest solar projects,” said Allen Capps, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and President, Power.

Sequoia Solar will deliver power to partners like AT&T, Toyota, PepsiCo and Donaldson Company through long-term power purchase agreements. For Toyota, Sequoia supports its Environmental Challenge 2050 goal of achieving carbon neutrality at all North American facilities by 2035. AT&T will use the power to help manage energy costs and reduce its carbon footprint.
