Line 3 deactivation: ‘Making the effort to do it right’
Environmental surveys are helping guide Enbridge's Line 3 deactivation program, including work within the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Reservation in Minnesota. By identifying rare, threatened, endangered and culturally significant plants and working closely with Tribal resource staff, the Enbridge team is focused on minimizing impacts and protecting sensitive areas. Kristy, an environmental specialist with Enbridge, says it’s about “making the effort to do it right” and ensuring the land is “as good if not better than when we came in.”
