‘There are fantastic careers in the energy industry’
Enbridge recently sponsored a bus tour at the International Union of Operating Engineers’ 400-acre training facility in Coloma, WI, for Native American community members to find out more about training and apprenticeship, pipeline construction, and Enbridge’s Line 5 Wisconsin Segment Relocation Project. “I reached out to Enbridge. They had mentioned this training . . . I was really interested because I think it would be really cool to operate a piece of equipment,” says LaShane, a member of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin, who took the tour. Adds Gail, a member of Enbridge’s Tribal engagement team: “Opportunities like this are so important to Enbridge. We want to give back to the communities where we’re working. Human potential is so important. And, we want to be a part of helping individuals see that there are fantastic careers in the energy industry.”
