L5WSRP environmental survey work: ‘An incredible amount of planning’
Eagles. Protected bat species. Mussels. Macroinvertebrates, like snails and crayfish. In advance of construction kickoff on Enbridge’s Line 5 Wisconsin Segment Relocation Project, years’ worth of environmental surveys have been conducted along the full route to assess and minimize the project’s impact on the environment. “In the many years I’ve worked alongside Enbridge, I’ve seen their environmental department very committed to making sure things are done right,” says Tim, Technical Director with Environmental Resources Management. Environmental planning has been extensive for the project, he says. “What I’d really like the public to understand is the level of effort . . . for designing, for routing. An incredible amount of planning,” he says.
