‘Everybody cares about clean water’

A small unnamed stream may be considered insignificant, but “one little stream connects to a larger stream which connects to a river which connects to Lake Superior,” says Jason, a forester with Bayfield County in Wisconsin. With the support of Enbridge’s Ecofootprint Grant Program, the county has begun monitoring, rehabilitating or replacing hundreds of culverts at road crossings in the Bayfield County Forest to prevent erosion and keep sediment from entering Chequamegon Bay. “This is the kind of support we need to improve the watershed,” says Mike, a fellow Bayfield County forester.
