Unprecedented Tribal spending, ‘and we’re not done yet’

By the time construction began on the Line 3 replacement, Enbridge had already spent $180 million on Tribal affiliation work opportunities, says Paul, our Director of Tribal Engagement. That includes empowerment, skills and union training; engaging labor coordinators; hiring Native American businesses; using Tribal monitors during construction; creating a Native American business directory for the project; and hiring liaisons from Tribal communities. It’s an unprecedented level of Tribal engagement, inclusion and economic participation, notes Paul, “and we’re not done yet.”
