‘A near miracle’: The Pipeline of ’29
In 1929, Mountain Fuel Supply Co. (what's now known as Enbridge Gas Utah) built a 334-mile line from southwest Wyoming that brought natural gas service to the Wasatch Front/Salt Lake City/Ogden. Construction began in January so that gas could be delivered in time for the next year's heating season—and was carried out through steep mountain passes in the face of horrendous weather conditions.
