Moriah Energy Center: Raising the roof for energy security

Construction crews achieved a major milestone on the Moriah Energy Center, near Rougemont, North Carolina, in late summer 2025 by hydraulically lifting and then welding into place a 300-ton steel roof for the 200-foot-wide tank. Expected to enter service in 2027, the Moriah Energy Center will hold up to 25 million gallons of LNG to enhance service reliability for Enbridge Gas North Carolina customers in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding areas (also referred to as the “Triangle”) when supply is low, and demand is high.
