L5WSRP construction begins: ‘It’s a very exciting time’

Right-of-way clearing work is now underway on Enbridge’s Line 5 Wisconsin Segment Relocation Project, after trees were hand-felled in early spring. In northwest Wisconsin, “there’s a huge impact to contractors—personnel, labor, and equipment being used on this project,” says Nick, a project manager at Enbridge. Equipment and materials are staged at yards for future steps of construction on the project—which will create more than 700 family-supporting union jobs and engage Wisconsin-based contractors, including construction giant Michels. “We’re doing everything we can to do this absolutely perfectly, on the safety and environmental fronts. This is a team effort,” says Nick.
