‘Proud of our Native heritage’

Gordon Construction, a 30-year-old business employing about 200 people, is located in Mahnomen, MN, on the White Earth Reservation. “Our top priority is to keep the Native American people employed and working,” says vice president Matt Gordon, an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. Gordon Construction, a contractor on Enbridge projects, makes a point of hiring locally. “I’m out here working for my family,” says Scott, who grew up on the White Earth Reservation. “The money I make, 80% of it goes back to my reservation. I spend it at home, and that helps my community.”
