A helping hand for ‘people who are struggling’

The St. Ignace Area Food Pantry serves residents of Michigan’s Mackinac County, where the need is very high. “Being able to know that families are fed is very rewarding,” says Kathy, president of the food bank, which relies on all forms of support: “Any help the food pantry can get is greatly, greatly appreciated.” As part of Enbridge’s annual involvement in the 4-H livestock auction at the UP State Fair, we purchased animals and have since donated more than 900 pounds of meat to nursing facilities and food banks in nine counties, including 250 pounds to the St. Ignace pantry. “I cannot tell you how good it feels,” says Erica Fink, Enbridge’s regional operations manager, “to work for a company that makes that a priority.”
