With a commitment to community, Enbridge has again partnered with The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) organization to support the 20th Annual WWJ Winter Survival Radiothon, raising critical funds for thousands of low-income and vulnerable Michigan residents who struggle to pay their utility bills.
The 14-hour event on Feb. 3 received more than $347,000 in pledges from callers, topping last year’s amount.
“Each day, our communities rely on Enbridge Line 5 to provide safely the vital energy they need,” said Candice Braddock, Enbridge senior community engagement advisor. “We take that responsibility to heart, just as we do our commitment to helping thousands across Michigan who struggle to pay their utility bills.”
In addition to the Radiothon Winter Survival, Enbridge’s $25,000 donation to THAW supports THAW’s annual Week of Warmth and Swing with a Bling, which also raise funds essential to supporting Michiganders.
More than 70% of households THAW assists have at least one child or senior, two of the populations most vulnerable to the cold.
