Enbridge employee-fueled campaigns raise US$4.3M (C$5.9M) for United Way chapters in 140 communities across North America

From Alberta to Arkansas, British Columbia to Bemidji, Manitoba to Michigan, and Ontario to Oklahoma, Enbridge employees turned compassion into action to support 140 United Way chapters in 2025. Through donations, creative fundraising, and volunteerism, more than 2,000 team members strengthened communities coast to coast—bringing generosity and heart to the places we live and work.

“Our people are the heart of our company as demonstrated by this year’s United Way campaign results. Their generosity and commitment to strengthening our communities across our vast footprint and serving those most vulnerable is inspiring,” says Reggie Hedgebeth, Enbridge’s Executive Vice President, External Affairs and Chief Legal Officer.

Advancing health, youth opportunities and financial resiliency

This year’s campaign raised US$4.3 million (C$5.9 million), including employee and retiree donations, special events, regional contributions, Enbridge’s corporate match, and volunteer grants through our Fueling Futures program.

In an eight-year span dating back to 2018, Enbridge’s employee-fueled United Way campaigns have raised more than US$38.6 million (C$47.4 million) toward healthy communities, youth opportunity, financial security and community resiliency.

Highlights of our regional 2025 United Way campaigns included:

  • Supporting Target Hunger, whose focus is to alleviate hunger and its root causes, through volunteer work in Houston—where we topped a million dollars for the United Way of Greater Houston for the 33rd time.
  • A volunteering event in Edmonton to benefit the Alberta Parenting for the Future Association, which offers early childhood development, youth support and family programs.
  • Participating in the Walk of 1000 Umbrellas fundraiser in Waterloo, ON, to show the spirit of solidarity and working under the United Way umbrella.
  • Bean bag and golf tournaments for the Head of the Lakes United Way in the Twin Ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI.
  • Nearly 600 hours of employee volunteering in Calgary with organizations that provide meals, comfort and connection, and maintain safe spaces to those who need it most.
  • Hitting the links in north-central Illinois for a second annual golf tourney benefiting the United Way of Livingston County, with triple the fundraising total from last year’s inaugural event.

New communities, bigger impact

Following Enbridge’s acquisition of three U.S. gas utilities, 2025 marked the first year these teams joined our company-wide United Way campaigns. Employees from Enbridge Gas Ohio, Utah/Wyoming/Idaho, North Carolina, and Wexpro brought fresh energy and dedication, expanding our reach to support more communities across the U.S.

In these new service areas, Enbridge contributed more than US$250,000 in corporate donations to local United Way chapters. This support was amplified by employee giving and hands-on participation in multiple Days of Caring events, including:

  • Revitalizing Salt Lake City’s Olene Walker Elementary school, where 80% of the approximately 500 students face economic challenges, by rejuvenating long-vacant planter boxes, organizing supplies, and sprucing up shared spaces to create a more welcoming and functional environment.
  • Beautifying Flynn Fellowship House in North Carolina, which supports individuals recovering from addiction.
  • Sorting and delivering essential supplies to seven local schools in Gaston County, NC, ensuring students have the resources they need to succeed.

Behind every dollar raised and every hour volunteered is the dedication of our employees. Together, we’re strengthening communities coast to coast—helping build safe, vibrant and sustainable communities for generations to come.
