At your service: Enbridge organizes North Dakota gas station blitz
Employees jump to the pump with 811 Day ‘full service’ in various communities
Golf bags. Tents. Motorcycle helmets. Fishing lures. Life jackets. Tennis rackets.
They’re staples of summer, and they’re all made with crude oil.
Today, in eight communities across North Dakota and Minnesota, Enbridge employees have been jumping to the pump by offering full service for customers at select gas stations.
In addition to spreading the safe digging message on National 811 Day, we’ve been pumping gas, washing windows, and handing out gift cards to hundreds of motorists, while also helping them understand the role that Enbridge plays in fueling their quality of life.
“Since Enbridge doesn’t have a storefront or a way to interact with people on a daily basis, we’re connecting the public with Enbridge employees today by putting a face to a name,” says Katie Haarsager, a North Dakota-based community relations advisor with Enbridge.
“Through a neighborly chat and a positive experience, we hope the public learns a little more about Enbridge’s dedication to safety, and how pipelines deliver the energy that makes our life more convenient and connected.”
In communities like Minot, Berthold, Stanley, Rugby, Fisher and East Grand Forks, our employees have been taking a few minutes to talk with motorists about pipelines and the economy, Enbridge’s commitment to safe and reliable energy delivery, and safe digging practices—seeing them off with some information to go in a goodie bag.
“This follows up on the success of our gas-station promotion in Duluth last winter,” says Haarsager, “and reminds folks that our energy fuels theirs, in hundreds of meaningful ways.”
