‘Enbridge has been an outstanding neighbor’
Scott, the President of the Village of Mackinaw City, moved up to the Straits of Mackinac 25 years ago. “I haven’t regretted one minute of it. It’s a beautiful place to live . . . there’s no comparison to anything else in the world,” he says. Summer tourism boosts the village’s population from just under 1,000 to as much as 15,000, and the village council has passed a resolution supporting the Great Lakes Tunnel Project. “Enbridge has been an outstanding neighbor,” he says. “They’ve been more forthcoming for a project than I’ve ever dealt with anybody.”
