Does Enbridge have a reinvestment program?

Our Answer

Don asked this question on March 7, 2017.

Hi Don,

Yes, Enbridge does have a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (“DRIP”).

If you were formerly a Spectra Energy registered shareholder, you can expect to receive a package in the mail in the next week or two. Once you receive this package, please contact CST Trust Company by telephone toll-free at 1-800-821-2794 or at 1-416-682-3860, or by email at inquiries@canstockta.com for DRIP information and enrollment forms. You will not be automatically re-enrolled in the Enbridge DRIP program, and must reach out to CST Trust Company to enroll.

If you were NOT formerly a registered shareholder of Spectra Energy and instead held your shares through a broker or bank, you will need to register your new Enbridge shares in order to participate in the DRIP. Please contact CST Trust Company using the contact information above for information on how to register your shares and enroll in the DRIP.

The Enbridge DRIP enables registered holders of Enbridge common shares to acquire additional shares through re-investment of the common share dividends paid quarterly, or through optional cash payments. Dividends re-invested through the Enbridge DRIP receive a 2% discount on the market price of Enbridge common shares and funds are fully invested as fractional share ownership is permitted as part of the plan. Enbridge DRIP participants are also eligible to purchase up to an additional $5,000 (CDN) in Enbridge common shares each quarter without incurring brokerage fees; however, the 2% discount is not available for these additional purchases.
