How do I find out where pipelines are in my neighborhood?

Our Answer

Dawn asked this question on April 28, 2017.

Hi Dawn,

If you live in the United States, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PMHSA) offers an online public map viewer that can show pipelines in your area, one county at a time, through the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS).

If you live in Canada, the Canadian Energy Pipelines Association (CEPA) recently launched a similar online service called the About Pipelines Map.
