Maternity and parental leave at Enbridge

Supporting employees and their families

At Enbridge, we provide industry-leading support for employees as they grow their families. Our maternity and parental leave benefit provides paid time away so new parents can focus on welcoming a child and adjusting to life together.

Our paid maternity and parental leave benefit includes:

  • Up to 20 weeks of paid leave for birth-giving parents
  • Up to 12 weeks of paid leave for other eligible parents

Additional unpaid maternity and parental leave is available in accordance with local legislation. In the U.S., both birth giving and other eligible parents may take up to 32 additional weeks of unpaid parental leave, allowing birth giving parents to be away for up to 52 weeks total.

More family-friendly support

Maternity and parental leave is part of a broader suite of programs designed to support growing families, including:

  • Family-building benefits: Up to $30,000 of coverage for fertility, and up to $15,000 each for adoption and surrogacy
  • Emergency child care support: Access to backup childcare when regular care arrangements fall through
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program: Confidential counselling and family support resources
  • Comprehensive family benefits coverage: Flexible health, dental, and insurance plans for employees and their dependents
