Earth Day

On Earth Day, we celebrate achievements in environmental protection around the world and acknowledge the need to protect our planet’s delicate ecosystems for future generations.

At Enbridge, sustainability is central to everything we do. We are committed to ESG leadership by driving the global energy transition to a lower-carbon future in ways that are ethical, sustainable and socially responsible. In 2020, we announced ambitious company-wide ESG goals—including net-zero emissions by 2050, and reducing emissions intensity from our operations 35% by 2030—and we’re making steady and tangible progress against those goals.

Enbridge and the energy transition: New energy technologies

At Enbridge, we deliver the reliable and affordable energy people need today while building the more sustainable energy systems of tomorrow. We’re pioneering hydrogen, RNG, and carbon capture and storage as we help to lead the global energy transition.

Enbridge and the energy transition: Renewable power generation

Renewables are projected to be the world’s fastest-growing energy source for decades. Governments and businesses alike are seeking clean energy to meet net-zero targets. We were an early investor in renewables, dating back to 2002, and we’re now accelerating our strategy to meet that demand.

Our commitment to the environment
Safety of people, and protection of the environment, is our top priority. Whether we’re planning, building, maintaining or operating a pipeline, we take special care to minimize our impact on the surrounding environment.

From wildlife protection strategies, to Horizontal Directional Drilling, to using pre-existing corridors of activity, to habitat restoration, we work hard to minimize our long-term impact to land along our pipeline routes.
